It is a ClearBlue digital. Takes all the guesswork out of it, that's for sure!! I bought it a while ago, I think from the netpharmacy website.

They come in a two pack for about $34 so not the cheapest, but I thought I would only use it after I got a positive on a cheaper test. Much easier for DH to see, he's not good with lines!!

BTW, the words only stay on the screen for a couple of hours, so if you get one, takes heaps of photos!!!

Thanks guys, really appreciate the good wishes. Still doesn't seem real. Have had bloods taken so just waiting on those results as well. Next is telling the family so that will be quite cool, as DH's parents don't yet have any grandchildren!

Let us know how your blood results go mandz! We're the same, my parents have two grandkids so far from my sister, but this will be the first for DH's parents.

Queenbean we are definitely the same, my parents have two grandkids from my sister as well! Not sure when to expect the results from the bloods, am guessing since I had them taken yesterday am likely to find out on Monday? Does anyone know if they ring you or are you meant to ring your doctor - forgot to ask

Posted By: queenbean
Date Posted: 03 August 2007 at 3:19pm
They are usually pretty quick but it depends on your doctor. Last month I had to ring four days later because I hadn't heard from them. My last blood test was just on Wednesday and my doctor rang me that night to tell me my hCG indicated I was pregnant.

I'd just ring them if you haven't heard from them by Monday afternoon.

Told my parents on the weekend, that was really cool. They were so excited. This weekend is DH's parents, and since they don't have any grandchildren yet I am sure they will be very happy for us.

Yes I think due 8th April. Decided there was no point in keeping it a secret from our parents because if I miscarry then I wouldn't be able to keep that a secret anyway, so they may as well know and be excited for us - here's hoping there won't be any problems anyway.

Hi Queenbean, congrats for you too!!

My oldest darling is almost 3, and my youngest is 15 months. We did plan on waiting another year, but this bub popped up on us!!

I'm convinced it's another girl!!

Quite paranoid though as I have had a late mc before, which makes me a "compulsive undie checker"!!

Really feeling tired today too, I'm going to try and convince my husband to come home early so I can go to bed early!!

Morning!!

I have a nasty head cold at the moment, which is making me feel so awful. Bunged up and very spinny. Hoping to shake this soon.

My hcg's seem to be doing what they should, and my EDD is around 12 April. I will have a scan early Sept to check dates and heart beat.

I hope you are all well, any more April mummy's out there??

QB and Mandz, how are you guys feeling. Lemonade is working a treat for me so far!!

You guys are lucky you are feeling so good. First day of morning sickness kicked in for me today. Didn't actually throw up thank god - but tried

Here's hoping it was a one off and it doesn't happen again tomorrow. Couldn't even eat my toast until I had been at work for about 30 minutes.

Other than that, all good, feeling really tired still but happy.

Hi ladies ! Suppose I had better stop lurking and put my hand up to join you

Found out yesterday I am pregnant again, we already have one darling little girl Erin who was born in July last year (2006).

Spoke to my GP today and she is popping a referral form in the mail so I can go for a dating scan, as I am not 100% sure of my dates. At a guess though, I am about 5-6 weeks too - will probably book the actual scan appointment for the end of next week.

Generally feeling fine so far, although a little on the tired side - nothing I can't manage It is all a little "surreal" but we (DH & I) are stoked!

Talk to you all again soon

sorry to hear it!! might be in the same boat!!

went for my scan today. started bleeding more heavier and new blood today :( getting more and more!!

Anyway in the scan the lady first said (very bluntly) i had already miscarried because there was nothing there, then 2 secs later (true story!!) she found the sac. So she measured it to be just over wks. Got to go back for another scan in 2wks to se if it is growing or not. (have a gut feeling that its not going to)

So had a pretty crap (excuse the language) morning, once i started bleeding more heavy it started hitting me more that this is probably it. I have tried to convince myself that it is early and not the end of the world. But still hard!!

welllllllllllll had to talk to someone...guess you guys get to listening to my sulking lol (sorry guys)

Well, I guess that would be me. Though I'm still very reluctant to count myself in....

I am sooo happy for all of you that are expecting next year in April - hopefully I can join you the whole way!

I have just gone through IVF - had two embryos implanted on the 27 April and became pregnant straight away! While that is amazing in itself and I am more than grateful to experience this, I am now terrified of losing my baby/babies...

DH and I had been TTC for four years so you can imagine that we were/are in absolute disbelieve about the positive result

Since the pregnancy confirmation I have been having weekly blood tests (IVF monitoring) - the first test was brillant, the second (last Tuesday) not so good. So I am really worried!

So my GP gave me another form for tomorrow - he thinks it's going to be fine...

If tomorrow goes well, I'll have my first scan at 6 weeks and 3 days!

Sooo worried - but still hopeful!

Posted By: nonny
Date Posted: 23 August 2007 at 4:46pm
Congrats Evolsen, fantastic news on your BFP!! What an amazing journey you have been through. Wishing you best of luck tomorrow for your BT!!

Erinsmum, I am so sorry to hear of your loss... I hope you are having some time out to yourself to heal. xx

How are you going Queenbean???

I have been having quite bad morning/alldaynight sickness!! But not so much today, so hoping it is alright. I have a scan in two weeks, so still a way off. At this stage I think I'm due around the 12th.

I find my ms comes in big waves, I was driving the other day with the girls in the car, and needed to pull over as I felt so yucky!! Luckily after a big deep breath it passed.

Talk soon, I hope you are all well, such a worrying stage but nice to have other people to go through it.

You will never believe it, nonny, but I so wish I had at least some of your ms, so that I have some sort of indication that I'm pregnant. But I have nothing (so far), except a slight queeziness last Saturday morning and a brief feeling of nausia two nights ago (as I was lieing awake worrying - feeling sick calmed me down and I went back to sleep, crazy!).

People say I'm lucky, but it would be kind of reassuring...

I'm due on the 21 April

Congratulations Evolsen!!!! That is such awesome news!!! And twins!

I know what you mean, I thought I had escaped morning sickness too, but have definitely had little waves of queasiness in the past couple of days. Definitely helps to have a little food in my stomach at all times!! But everyone is different, my sister never had any morning sickness at all with her two kids, and they are very healthy little kids.

Hope it passes for you soon nonny!

Hi guys

Hope you are all doing well. Went to the specialist today for our first appointment. Not too bad! Got to have a scan which was exciting. Baby is 1.04cm long and looks just like a bean He even could see the baby's heart beating - not that I could!

So made it seem much more real. Got a pic of the scan as well so that is cool.

Hope everyone is getting over their morning sickness or not even suffering Mine seems to have reduced heaps which is nice.

mandz, that is so exciting about your scan!!! Glad everything went well and there was a nice heartbeat!

How did you get a scan so early?!! My doctor said my first scan would be at 12 weeks.

Have any of you girls got a midwife yet? I'm just wondering if its too early to contact one?

Mandz - That's so cool that you could have a scan and see the little one - That must have been so exciting!

Queenbean - I haven't got a midwife yet, either, but friends told me to get onto it pretty fast as there are not very many in NZ and they are booking up quickly.

I will have a specialist do the care for me who works with a bunch of midwives so once I contact him - which I will do after the scan next week (fingers crossed), he will get me in contact with one (or more?) of them.

Congrats to you all! isn't it exciting. I am 6 weeks today and going for my first scan end of this week. Evolsen I am also due on 21st April, though my first scan is a dating scan, so that could change! I am so excited this is my first so really hope everything goes well. The percentages are so high for miscarriages so fingers crossed. I do get morning sickness, all day, though it was worst in week 4, week 5 was worst for cramps, cramps still there but not as noticeable any more.
Hope everyone is feeling good today!

Hi guys

I got to have a scan because I decided to go with a specialist and not with a midwife. I do believe though if you are going with a midwife, the sooner you find one the better as there is a desperate shortage out there.

Get to have the next scan in about 4 weeks which is cool as it is the testing one, so hopefully can have the 4D version. Can't wait. Still just trying to hurry up till we get to 12 weeks when I feel like I will be able to relax a bit and enjoy this pregnancy.

Want to be able to tell everyone as well!

Hi guys

Finally joining the "morning sickness crowd", though it never gets really bad, but for the last two days I've definitely felt quite queezy for about an hour in the morning.

Tomorrow I'll have another blood test and my first scan at 1.30pm. I wonder if we're going to see a heart beat... And I think after that I will ring the specialist I got recommended by my GP to see if he would take me on board.

Mikki - my GP said the 21 April was a very special birthday as it was also his birthday and that of the Queen

Mandz - I know what you mean - wanting to tell everyone. We've basically told all our friends already as they all knew we were going through IVF, but it would be nice to be "officially" pregnant...

has anyone else had a scan as early as 6.5 weeks, i know when my last AF was, but my midwife is still sending me for a date scan, I also want to have the nuchal fold test, but don't thik this can be done until your past 8 weeks.

I would have though my pants would be starting to get tight round the waist but nothing yet, hope all is ok.

Hi everyone,

Conratulations Mikki!! That is so exciting! I won't get my first scan until 12 weeks, it's the NT scan as well.

Mandz, I am totally with you on the not being able to wait until 12 weeks!! It can't go fast enough! Yes, I think I will ring a midwife this week as I've heard it can be hard getting them! I think, however, I will end up with a specialist obstetrician too, as I have a heart condition. 4D scans sound so cool!

Evolsen, good luck with your scan tomorrow!! I have definitely had some episodes of queasiness, but no throwing up yet!! Here's hoping for two strong heartbeats tomorrow!!

*Lurking*

Hello ladies and congratulations!  I was just reading through the posts and I would DEFINATELY recommend you start looking for a midwife now!  There is a shortage especially in the Auckland region, so you have to get in quick smart!

I left it till I was about 10 weeks and had such a hard time finding a midwife.

Hi guys,

Just got back from my scan and there is one (not two) little bean growing (about 4 mm in size now) with a heart beat!! Very surreal seeing this little flickering on the screen that they call heart beat - but it was sooo reassuring to see it!

im still waiting for my list of midwives to come in the mail.. i saw the doctor today, he prescribed me some vitamin B6 and some nausea pills, ive only had morning sickness for 3 days and all i can eat at the moment is crackers and dry rice bubbles... ive also got sinisitis and recovering from the flu.
i miscarried at 13 weeks last year and didnt have sickness anything like this, so im just counting my blessings right now. fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy.

Hi Mikki with my first baby I didn't outgrow anything until well past 12 weeks. There was nothing wrong, everything was just well hidden. Not to worry!
